Mourning Gecko – Common
$25.00
Mourning geckos are micro geckos found in many tropical regions. They’re known for their ability to reproduce asexually! They are parthenogenetic, meaning a female will lay fertile “clone” eggs without a male.
While they do need very secure enclosures to prevent escapes, they’re a relatively easy reptile to care for especially in a bioactive tank. Hatchlings can escape through the smallest of openings. We will gladly review your enclosure and offer tips and tricks to safely secure your new pet(s).
Handling is not recommended. Their tiny size and incredible speed means they’re better off as display animals within bioactive terrariums.
They’re social creatures and do well in small groups, though they will establish a pecking order and bark or nip at each other. Adults may prey on hatchlings if other food options are scarce.
All mourning geckos sold here will be juveniles. Please contact us to arrange a proven breeder ($40), a high expression Hawaiian juvenile ($60), or a high expression Hawaiian breeder ($100).
