Mourning Gecko – Hawaiian

$45.00

Mourning geckos are micro geckos found in many tropical regions. They’re known for their ability to reproduce asexually! They are parthenogenetic, meaning a female will lay fertile “clone” eggs without a male. Hawaiian mourning geckos are a lively island variety with slightly darker tones and bold markings. They’re great for naturalistic enclosures and small community setups.

While they do need very secure enclosures to prevent escapes, they’re a relatively easy reptile to care for especially in a bioactive tank. Hatchlings can escape through the smallest of openings. We will gladly review your enclosure and offer tips and tricks to safely secure your new pet(s).

Handling is not recommended. Their tiny size and incredible speed means they’re better off as display animals within a bioactive terrarium.

They’re social creatures and do well in small groups, though they will establish a pecking order and chirp, bark, or nip at each other. Adults may prey on hatchlings if other food options are scarce.

All Hawaiian mourning geckos sold here will be juveniles. Please contact us to arrange a proven breeder ($80), a high expression juvenile ($60), or a high expression breeder ($100).
