Description

The Porcellio sp. “Spiky Canare Ivory” isopod stands out immediately with its creamy ivory tones and rugged, armored texture. Their pronounced spines and ghostly behavior give them a prehistoric appearance that makes them especially attractive to collectors of rare isopods.

Unlike many Porcellio species, they are frequently invisible and inactive. That said, they have a cute-as-can-be reaction to threats. When disturbed, they may stand perfectly still on their “tippy toes” to appear larger and more threatening. If you see it, please squee appropriately.

Spike Canares prefer a well-ventilated setup with a moisture gradient, allowing them to choose between drier and more humid areas as needed.
